New Fish and Bugs in July: Everything arriving and leaving this month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

July marks the arrival, and departure, of a range of new fish, bugs and sea creatures in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Catching every fish, bug and sea creatures in New Horizons will not only help complete the Museum, but will unlock the DIY recipes for two of the Golden Tools.

The Critterpedia details when each creature appears on your island, but, to gain this information, you must first catch the creature in question. To help you out, this page explains exactly which fish and bugs arrive and vanish in July.

New Animal Crossing bugs, fish and sea creatures arriving in July
Each month in New Horizons brings at least one new fish, bug or sea creatures for you to hunt down on your island.

Successfully catching these creatures will help you complete the exhibits at the Museum and your own Critterpedia, so it’s always a good idea to know which critters are heading to your island.

New to Animal Crossing? Our Animal Crossing New Horizons tips can help with the basics. From the off, there’s fish and bugs to catch, flowers and fruit to grow with Leif selling seeds, villagers to add or remove and tools such as the new ladder and vaulting pole to collect. Once you have settled in, you’ll want to be making as many Bells as possible, start collecting K.K. Slider songs and work on your island star rating, increase your HHA ranking, incorporate Feng Shui into your room design and acquiring kitchen furniture. You can also buy fake art from Redd. Recently added were swimming, sea creatures and Pascal.

Animal Crossing bugs, fish and sea creatures leaving in July
There’s only so much room on your island in New Horizons, so, for more bugs, fish and sea creatures to arrive, some have to leave. You’ll want to ensure you’ve caught at least one of these creatures before they leave, because you’ll have to wait a couple of months for them to return.

Don’t worry too much if you do miss a fish, bug or sea creature – they will return to your island eventually.

If you want to ensure that you don’t miss anyone though, then it’s a good idea to try catching these creatures closer to the beginning of the month. This will prevent the end-of-the-month bug, fish or sea creature hunt rush.

Our dedicated guides for both fish, bugs and sea creatures will also supply you with a host of bug hunting or fishing tips.

If you want to know more about the entries in your Critterpedia, then our respective fish list, bug list and sea creatures pages display every species that can be found throughout the year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
